Yoginating

This retreat is an opportunity to attune our senses to our nature. Everything in nature takes times of rest and repose; so do we. During 4 days we will remember that the way we move and feel is not random. Our body responds to the environment and when we are in a natural space, everything is released little by little. Using techniques that speak directly to our nervous system, we will understand a little better how the physical, emotional and mental place we live in works.    Through the practice of yoga, free movement and meditation we get closer to our essence. Let yourself be inspired and guided by nature. This retreat is an invitation to listen to body, mind and heart in their natural state.
The body speaks a different language than the mind. In these four days we dedicate spaces for exploration, connection and expression. We will understand how our nervous system works in movement and stillness so that we can take techniques and practices into our daily lives. We will establish a new vocabulary that will allow us to celebrate where we are. We will work with ancient techniques; from the practice of yoga, meditation and free movement. We will practice with somatic tools of soft and deep movement from enjoyment.

Taking care of the body through movement is the basis of yoga asana. But how to do it correctly? To answer this question I have called Cris Aramburo whose work focuses on taking care of the body with the practice of yoga.
Cris Aramburo was one of the 14 participants in the Virtual Yoga Congress and, after seeing her presentation, I knew I wanted to meet her. In the videos she prepared for the congress I felt that she answered many of the questions I receive daily. That answer is summed up with this sentence:
So our conversation starts there. Cris explains what a nurturing movement is and how to use this concept in our yoga practice. She also explains how to self-observe ourselves to know what kind of nourishing movements we can give our body on a daily basis.

Moving from the heartYOGA WITH CRISJuly 01, 2017Moving from the Heart is an intensive spread over three blocks of practice in which essential concepts to the philosophy of yoga are explored constantly brought to the ground.
Thus, the practice asks us to regain lost space. That we reconquer the looseness and permeability of each of our tissues. That we return to ease and physical space just as we air and ventilate our homes. That we give ourselves space and time to explore the sensations that have been anchored in the deepest part of the mind, that we let go of what we have learned, of what we know, and that by planting ourselves in the unknown we return to our genuine way of feeling.
During this block we will go into the depths of the body and mind. Although the practice of Yin Yoga may seem easy, holding what emerges from deep within can be revealing.
How we move into the most complex places with smoothness and ease. What happens in our mind in the different scenarios we present ourselves in during physical practice. How we stay committed to what is most authentic in us. How we celebrate our uniqueness and share it with others. What is the commitment to our own feeling, to our own walk.
